The Northside Youth Centre & Indoor Skateboard Park is a safe, alcohol and drug free meeting place for youth of the Fredericton area to participate in positive recreation, social and learning experiences.
Northside Youth Centre (NYC) & Indoor Skateboard Park Grand Opening Party
The grand opening party, sponsored by East Side Board Supply will officially start the 2009 season on May 10th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Come check out some of the entertainment, games, skateboarding demos, and free give-a-ways throughout the party.

Membership Fees:
Skate Board Park and Youth Center: $50.00
Youth Centre only: $5.00
Drop in activities:
Youth are invited to hang out with their friends and take advantage of the in house activities, such as: DDR games, Wii Games, pool, air hockey, ping pong, board games, or basketball. (all games are free of charge).
NYC Rental
Having a Birthday Party or interesting in renting the NYC for a special event? Why not book the center during our non-scheduled hours for only $45.00 per hour (two hour minimum booking).
Skateboard Ramps:
NYC offers many challenges from the beginner to the advanced skater.
A pyramid, 8 foot half pipe, 2 quarter pipes, 3 launch ramps, 1 mini grind box, 2 six feet grind boxes, 2 four feet flat banks, concrete steps, 3 cement grind boxes, eight foot launch ramp, four foot spine and rails.
Programs
2009 Skateboard Camps (Full Day and Half Day)
The Northside Youth Centre will be offering 11 weeks of full and half day skateboard camps. Our skateboard camps are pre-planned, day by day, and we have flexible schedules to customize each day's activities.
Campers spend five hours of the day in the skate park. The time in the skate park utilizes both one on one and group lesson instruction. The focus of the lessons will be on particular obstacles and general skating styles.
Some of the activities planned throughout the day include dodge ball, gaga ball, active games, weekly outings and developmental assets leader training. Photos and video from the week's activities will be on display the last day of camp.
Lock-Ins (May 2nd, June 6th, August 8th)
A lock-in is an overnight event in which youth are "locked-in" at the NYC for the duration of the event. Admission for the lock-in is $10 per person. The event runs from 9:00pm to 7:00am sharp. A full slate of entertainment and activities are planned for the evening and snacks and breakfasts will be provided. For further information please call 460-2230.
Skateboard Lessons
NYC will be offering skateboard lessons for youth from the National Skateboard Certification Program. The SKATZ© Program is a dynamic progressive teaching system for children and youth with an emphasis on FUNdamentals and safety. The program includes five different skill levels and includes instructional DVD's.
Girls Only Skateboard Lessons
This girls only program provides participants the opportunity to learn & practice skateboarding skills in a comfortable environment with other girls. Join us Tuesday, May 12, 19, and 26th at 4:00pm-5:00pm at the Northside Youth Centre, no equipment or experience necessary. Cost is $20.00 per participant.
Teen Dances
Looking to get your grove on? Our supervised teen dances are the place to be. Our D.J will be spinning some of the hottest summer tracks all for $5. Great prizes will be available.
Outdoor Adventure Camp (Overnight Camping at Mactaquac Provincial Park)
Join us for some summer fun at Mactaquac Provincial Park. This outdoor adventure camp will be a blast for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping activities include; pitching tents, cooking supper over an open flame, hiking, swimming, scavenger hunt, campfire songs and stories. A great evening under the stars is completed with smores! This camp will be a great adventure in the outdoors with a camping trip to top it all off!
