Willie O'Ree Place

Willie O'Ree Place is a fully accessible, state-of-the art facility that features two NHL-sized ice surfaces, 11 large dressing rooms, offices for officials and event organizers, an indoor walking track, three rooms for community use, canteens operated by the Nashwaaksis Y's Men Club, the Fredericton YMCA Northside Wellness Centre, and a seasonal youth centre and indoor skateboard park. In addition, this facility houses Fredericton's Celebration of Sport.

The Scotiabank Park North Complex was officially named Willie O'Ree Place in a public ceremony January 16, 2008 in honour of the former Fredericton man who became the first black person to play in the National Hockey League 50 years ago.

Community Rooms

Three spacious community rooms are available for special events. Each individual room has the capacity to host up to 60 people in theatre-style seating or 40 people around tables. For larger events, all three rooms can be opened up to accommodate up to 200.

Included at no additional charge upon request are a projection screen and projector (community room #3 only), podium, wireless internet provision, and room set up by staff prior to your arrival.

The walking track located at Willie O'Ree Place is open to the public free of charge except during paid events.
