Cycling Infrastructure

In order to further encourage the choice of cycling in the City of Fredericton, the city provides bike rack and Fixit stations for cyclists at various locations in the city.

Secured Bike Parking Facility

The secure Bikepark facility is located beside Sutton House (335 Queen Street). A one-time $10.00 deposit for a swipe (proxy) card is required for access. Parking is free.

Cyclists can reserve access in the bike parking facility on a first come, first served basis by registering at the Payment Centre located in City Hall.

Bike Racks

The city is constantly adding new bike racks to public facilities. Information and assistance on the proper selection and location of bike racks is provided through the Parks & Trees Division.

The Fixit

The City of Fredericton has installed two bicycle repair stations along its trail network. The first is located on the south side waterfront trail adjacent to the Lighthouse, while the second can be found on the north side by the trail visitor centre. These stations have all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat tire to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The tools and air pump are securely attached to the stand with stainless steel cables and tamper-proof fasteners. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedals and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments.
