Parking:

As a precaution, the following City of Fredericton surface parking lots will be closed to the public starting Thursday, April 18, 2018 starting at 4:30 pm and remain closed until further notice.

  • Queen Street (behind the Legion)
  • York Street Carpark (behind City Hall)
  • Officers’ Square Lot (behind the Library)

Looking ahead to Tuesday, April 23, 2019, if the surface parking lot a passholder normally uses is closed, they are redirected to the Frederick Square Parking Garage or the East End Parking Garage. Please clearly display your monthly parking pass.

In addition, starting April 23, 2019, the Frederick Square Parking Garage and East End Parking Garages will be restricted to monthly, passholders only.  After 10 am, depending on capacity, the garages may open to general public for parking.

NOTE:  Residents with a City of Fredericton monthly parking pass will be able to ride Fredericton Transit for free during flooding, when the surface parking lots are closed.  Simply show your parking hangtag to the transit driver.

In an effort to ease traffic congestion and parking demand during flooding, residents are encouraged to walk, bike, carpool, work from home (if possible), or take transit.
