Transit Fare Assistance Program

In order to assist residents for whom transit costs make mobility a challenge, Fredericton operates a Transit Fare Assistance Program.

Under the program, community groups and agencies can apply to receive Transit and ParaTransit tickets to distribute to their clients. This allows people who need the assistance to get to medical appointments, access education and training, seek employment and/or visit service providers. This program recognizes the significant contribution that community groups make to Frederictonians’ quality of life, and the city is pleased to help them fulfill their mandates.

Registered non-profit groups should apply for support under the program at the end of each calendar year. Participating groups also must demonstrate sound management and accountability for all tickets they receive by submitting ticket usage records to the city each month and returning any unused tickets at the end of each year.

The deadline to submit applications for 2018 is 8:00 am on Monday, January 15, 2018.
