Last week to provide input into pedestrian safety survey

Photo of Pedestrian Crossing SignFredericton (January 9) – Time is running out for Fredericton residents to voice their concerns on pedestrian safety.
This is the last week for the public to share their views and opinions as part of the online survey set up for the Capital City Pedestrian Crossing Study.
The deadline to provide input is 4:30 pm on January 13, 2011.  The survey, which went live on December 15, can be found at www.fredericton.ca/pedestrianstudy.
“So far, we have received over 135 completed surveys,” said Coun. Bruce Grandy, Chair of the City of Fredericton’s Transportation Committee. “We would really like to hear from as many residents as possible before the deadline.”
The purpose of the study is to identify what residents believe to be the safest crosswalks, what crosswalks make pedestrians feel unsafe, and what crosswalk types residents have seen in other areas that they believe may improve safety in Fredericton.
For those unable to participate in the online survey or for anyone looking for more information, please contact the City’s Engineering &Public Works Department at 506-460-2038 or publicworks@fredericton.ca.
