Overnight Parking Restriction

Overnight parking is not permitted within the City Limits (Bylaw T-1, Sections 16.01 & 16.02)

The fine for overnight parking is $25.00; however, during snow removal months the police can have vehicles towed. 



Overnight parking restrictions are as follows:

 WINTER (Dec, Jan, Feb & Mar):

  • Between the hours of midnight and 7:00 a.m. no person shall park a vehicle unattended on City streets (CITY WIDE) ... for the purposes of snow removal


SUMMER (Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct & Nov):

  •  Between the hours of 2:30 a.m. & 6:30 a.m.  no person shall park a vehicle unattended on City streets (DOWNTOWN)
  • Between the hours of 12:30 a.m. & 6:30 a.m. no person shall park a vehicle unattended on City streets  (REMAINDER OF CITY)


DOWNTOWN is that "part of the City bounded on the northeast by the St. John River, on the northwest by the northwesterly side of Smythe Street, on the southwest by the southwesterly side of George Street, and on the southeast by the southeasterly side of Church Street".
