Attention designers, programmers, engineers, and fearless innovators! APPLY to play a role in creating a ‘made-in-Fredericton’ design solution that will impact your community and City of Fredericton emergency services!

As the first 5G City in Atlantic Canada – powered by Rogers, the City of Fredericton and Fredericton Innovation Partnership  are pleased to extend a special invitation to apply to Boost: Prototype Camp.

Event details

This prototyping event is a continuation of the 2021 ideation camp. Using design thinking, collaboration, co-creation, and prototyping, participants will be asked to explore 5G capabilities, and help to rethink and reimagine our Fredericton’s emergency services. Activities will include a combination of co-creation exercises both synchronous and asynchronous.

When:  Thursday, March 24th and Friday, March 25th, 2022

Duration: 4 hours each day 

(*We ask that participants commit to the full duration of both workshop days)

Delivery Method: Virtual (*If possible, we may transition to a hybrid event – both online and in-person.  Access to a reliable internet connection is required.)

Seat Capacity: 15 (*spaces are limited. We are seeking a firm commitment from participants.)

Event Cost: Free

Who can apply?

We are seeking creative individuals who have experience or expertise in design thinking, co-creation, and rapid and iterative prototyping. Pre-existing knowledge of 5G capabilities is not required. Areas of speciality can include but are not limited to:

  • user experience design
  • systems engineering
  • human-computer interaction
  • programming
  • + other related disciplines 

* Post-secondary students are welcome to apply!​

In addition to prizes for the winning team, participants will benefit from two exciting days of learning, professional development, networking, and mentorship. 

Participants will receive a certificate of completion that can be shared with your employer or academic instructor to demonstrate the transferrable skills and knowledge acquisition through your participation.
