Steven Hicks is a life-long resident of Fredericton, and he’s devoted much of that life to helping others while working for over 20 years in the Criminal Justice / Social Justice field. Councillor Hicks is currently employed by the Provincial Government as a probation officer with the Department of Public Safety.

Councillor Hicks was appointed Deputy Mayor for the City of Fredericton for a two-year term in May 2018. He was first elected to Council in May 2008 and is currently serving his third four-year term. He is a member of the Killarney Lake Master Plan Advisory Committee, a Director on the Board for the Ville Cooperative and past Board Member for the Fredericton Exhibition (FREX).

Steven graduated from Fredericton High School, and then from St. Thomas University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Criminology & Psychology. He’s a former member of the Fredericton Senior Royals Baseball Club and is a current member of the team’s Board of Directors. Councillor Hicks lives in Marysville with his wife, Angela, and their two daughters.
