City crews cleaning up after thunderstorm

Small debris curbside cleanup scheduled for Saturday, June 13

As a result of the severe thunderstorm on Friday, June 5, causing significant damage to trees, the City will be doing a one-time limited small debris curbside cleanup on Saturday, June 13.

Recognizing that the thunderstorm left large amounts of debris in some areas of Fredericton, the City will do a curbside cleanup that follows the same rules as the Spring Yard Cleanup program with materials bundled or bagged and at the curb by 7:00 a.m.

This special cleanup is for SMALLER DEBRIS AND YARD WASTE ONLY. Larger items cannot be collected on the 13th because of limitations with the staff and equipment, and because large material will not be compatible with the composting process.

Over the next couple of weeks, City crews will be focusing on damaged and hazardous street and park trees.

Additionally, if trees on your property are damaged or hazardous, the City advises residents to seek advice from tree professionals for repair or removal.
