City Hours of Operation for Remembrance Day

The City of Fredericton reminds the public of the following hours of operation and other information related to Remembrance Day.

  • City Hall and other administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. 
  • There will be no transit service on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
  • Regular garbage and recycling collection will occur Wednesday, November 11.  Routine schedules may not occur, so please set out containers by 7 am.
  • The Poppy Flag will fly at City Hall until Thursday, November 12 to commemorate Veterans’ Week. 
  • In addition, the flags at City Hall will be lowered to half-mast on November 10 to commemorate Remembrance Day, in honour of all Canadians who have served their country in time of war. 
  • The 2020 Fall Leaf Pick-up will take place November 9-13.  Leaf pickup will occur on November 11. 

Please note that due to COVID-19 precautions, there are no official Remembrance Day ceremonies in the City. Instead, we encourage you to pay respects by honouring a moment of silence in your home, or visiting one of the city’s cenotaphs.
