Nominations Now Open for City’s Arts Achievement Awards

After a two-year hiatus, due to COVID-19, the City of Fredericton is once again accepting nominations for its Arts Achievement Award once again. The award will recognize outstanding achievement in, or contribution to, the arts and cultural landscape in the city. Nominations will be accepted until April 30.

The Arts Achievement Award celebrates cultural achievement and excellence by individuals, organizations and / or businesses in all areas of the arts.  There will be up to a maximum of three awards presented.  The Arts Awards recognition program began in 2017.

“We’re looking forward to recognizing well deserving members of our local arts and culture sector and celebrating the vibrant arts and cultural landscape in the City of Fredericton”  said Wayne Burley, Chair of the City’s Arts & Culture Advisory Committee.

Eligible applicants must currently live, work, or be based in the Fredericton region, and be living at the time of selection.  Nominations will recognize current or recent achievements in their field, as this is not meant to be considered a lifetime achievement award.

The nominations will be reviewed by a jury selected by members of the Arts Advisory Committee and the Award(s) will be presented at an awards ceremony in May.  Recipients(s) of these awards are presented with a bronze pin, created by a former NB College of Craft & Design student Joël Belliveau, as part of a collaboration project with NBCCD metal students.
