Partnership results in Downtown Cooling Station

The City of Fredericton has partnered with New Brunswick Public Health, Downtown Community Health Centre, Fredericton Public Library and a number of faith-based groups to operate a cooling station downtown. The tent will be available during heat alerts starting Thursday, August 12. This cooling station is located in the Sports Hall of Fame parking lot on Carleton St., next to the library. Staff and volunteers will be present at the station.

“This is an example of what our city can achieve when we partner with others in the community,“ said Fredericton Mayor Kate Rogers.

Note: The cooling station will operate at the Downtown Community Centre on August 13.
