Statement from City of Fredericton re: Halloween Plans

The City of Fredericton, following the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, will move forward in permitting door-to-door trick-or-treating this Halloween. All celebrations – including informal indoor and outdoor events - must be in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Province of New Brunswick and the Chief Medical Officer of Health.

The City recommends families planning to trick-or-treat add COVID-19 safety precautions to their celebrations, including washing or sanitizing your hands before touching treats, not offering home-made treats, and limiting your trick-or-treating to one neighbourhood only. Anyone participating in Halloween outside of their home is encouraged to wear a community face mask.

Families are also reminded to follow their usual Halloween safety guidelines of trick-or-treating with small children, avoiding dark coloured costumes and masks, and travelling in well-lit areas. If conditions change, we will continue to rely on the updated guidance and advice from the Chief Medical Officer of Health. Please enjoy a safe and happy Halloween.
