Volunteers Sought for Tourism Levy Management Committee

The City of Fredericton is looking for interested city residents to fill positions on the newly established Tourism Levy Management Committee.

The Committee is appointed by and responsible to the Council of the City of Fredericton. The Committee is responsible for directing strategic investments from the Tourism Levy to enhance Fredericton’s position as a tourism destination and maximum economic activity in the tourism sector. The Committee will work directly with Fredericton Tourism to ensure an efficient and strategic use of funds generated by the hotel levy.

The Committee consists of nine members: three members nominated by the Fredericton Hotel Association, one large institutional tourism stakeholder, one member of the tourism sector at large, the City’s Chief Administrative Officer (or designate), the City’s Director of Tourism, and two additional city representatives. Tourism sector representatives will be appointed for two-year terms.

The City is seeking interested residents with management experience in the tourism sector, with a background in tourism or hospitality management, tourism marketing, destination development or tourism product development.

Anyone interested in serving on the Hotel Levy Management Committee is asked to submit a letter and brief résumé, demonstrating their qualifications and experience, to the undersigned before 4:30 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
