Charges laid in ongoing drug investigation

One person has been arrested and charged in connection with an ongoing investigation in Fredericton.

On the morning of April 1st, 2021, officers from Fredericton Police Force (A Platoon), conducted a traffic stop on Riverside Drive.

The vehicle was deemed to have fictitious plates, and the male driver was served with a POPA Appearance Notice for driving while suspended. Due to CDSA being present in the vehicle, the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit was asked to assist with the investigation.

A search warrant was conducted on the vehicle, and loaded firearm was seized.

On April 8, 2021, the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit arrested 30-year old Kendrick Anderson, and a quantity of drugs was seized incident to arrest.

Mr. Anderson faces the following charges in relation to the April 1, 2021 traffic stop:   Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Possession of a firearm contrary to an order, Careless use of a firearm, Carrying a concealed weapon, and Driving while suspended.

In addition, he faces charges of Possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and Possession of property obtained by crime related to the drugs that were seized incident to the April 8 arrest (photos attached). The approximate street value of those drugs is $22,000. 

Kendrick Anderson has been remanded and will appear in court again on April 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
