Guilty Plea in Candace Stevens Homicide

On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, 42-year old Wendy Gail Losier appeared in court in relation to the homicide of 31-year old Candace Rose Winona Stevens in October 2018.

Ms. Losier had initially been charged in October 2019 with accessory after the fact to murder and causing an indignity to human remains. On Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of being an accessory to manslaughter in Ms. Stevens’ death, as well as causing an indignity to human remains. She has admitted to helping 26-year old James Curtis, now deceased, who was responsible for Ms. Steven’s murder.

Wendy Losier will return to court in Fredericton for sentencing on February 21, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

The RCMP was called to a dirt road in Upper Derby, N.B. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 after the discovery of human remains. It has been determined the victim was Ms. Stevens of Fredericton.
