Increasing numbers of positive COVID-19 cases in other New Brunswick jurisdictions due to travel and community spread, have resulted in those jurisdictions raising their alert level to Orange.

With the safety of all Frederictonians and surrounding areas in mind, the Fredericton Police Force will immediately be stepping up inspections of and response to public gatherings both private and commercial, to ensure compliance with the Emergency Measures Act (EMA).

Violations of the EMA may result in the owner of the home, property, vehicle or establishment receiving a minimum fine of $292.50 under section 24(1)(b) of the EMA, or receiving court documents, compelling the receiver to attend Provincial Court to answer to the offense with a possible fine of up to $10,000.00, if found guilty.  This applies to both  privately owned, or commercial properties or vehicles.

Please help us keep all our citizens safe and not lose valuable ground we have gained in the fight against COVID-19 here in our City, Province and the Atlantic bubble.
