Pedestrian injured in hit and run

A 45-year old man is in critical condition this morning after being struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Fredericton Police Patrols, as well as the Fredericton Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the 1100-block of Prospect Street, in Fredericton, N.B. The victim had been struck by a vehicle as he was crossing Prospect Street, and was transported to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, where he remains.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing, with assistance from Criminal Investigations, Forensic Identification and Accident Reconstruction.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen a possible suspect vehicle in the uptown area around the time of the collision (See map.)
