Update on September 28, 2020 Investigation

At 1:20 p.m., police responded to the 600-block of Union Street, to a male who had sustained a leg injury, which was later determined to be a gun shot wound.

Out of an abundance of caution, significant resources were deployed to the area. Schools in the vicinity were in a hold and secure for a period of time.

One person was arrested in connection with the investigation and has been released unconditionally.

A firearm was located and seized in the area.

Through the investigation it was confirmed that the original victim had sustained a self-inflicted gun shot wound in the leg, due to an accidental discharge. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Police have now cleared the scene.
