What Should I Do If I See A Chemical Spill Or Release?
- Stay away from the spill site. Don’t go near the spill or walk through the chemical.
- Phone 9-1-1. Provide as much information as possible, including location of the spill.
- Listen to instructions from local authorities. If they tell you to take immediate shelter indoors or evacuate, do so.
What Should I Do If I Smell Gas?
The smell of gas is often described as a “rotten egg” smell. If you think you smell gas:
- Leave the building or area immediately.
- Phone 9-1-1 away from the site of the ruptured gas line.
