If you live outside city boundaries, you are still welcome to participate, but you will need to pay a fee before your Rec Card can be issued. The City of Fredericton currently has Recreation Service Agreements in place with the Village of New Maryland, Rural Community of Hanwell, and portions of several Local Service Districts, including Douglas, Estey’s Bridge, Maugerville, Noonan, New Maryland, Ludford Subdivision and St. Mary’s. See the Recreation Service Agreement Map for details; limits to the area covered are identified by civic address.
The purpose of the Recreation Service Agreement is to provide residents of participating areas with access to, and use of, specific recreational services at the same level and same cost as the residents of the City of Fredericton.
Under the agreement, participating partners have access to various recreational programs and facilities provided by the City of Fredericton as of June 1, 2007.
Residents from outside the area covered by the agreement pay a user fee per sport to access and use City of Fredericton recreational services. As of April 1, 2018 the following fees apply:
• Ice Sports - $773.00 (plus HST)
• Field Sports - $17.00 (plus HST)
• Outdoor Pool Swim Lessons - $11.00 (plus HST)
• Northside Youth Centre Camps -$17 (plus HST)
Please note that user fees must be paid by non-partner community participants prior to registration for minor and adult sport groups or leagues. For outdoor pool swim lessons, user fees must be paid at the time of registration.
