No Cash? No Problem
The electronic fare collection system automatically collects and processes non-cash fares for public transit by way of debit or credit. Fare purchased through the HotSpot App will soon be validated on these devices. The HotSpot app allows transit riders to buy a single ride pass or a monthly pass from their mobile device.
Fredericton Transit customers can easily pay with their debit or credit cards, cellphone, or Smart watch (including Apple Pay). Some banks will show a pending charge of $6.00 the day a customer uses open payment. This is to reduce the number of interac payments processed. This will be corrected the following business day, once the payment has been processed.
Bus transfers
Transfer passes are free of charge one way. A customer can ask the operator for a transfer pass upon payment for connecting to another bus during their trip. Transfers are valid one way and available upon request for a continuous trip. Transfers are not required when using a pass.
