Overnight parking restrictions
October 1 - May 31:
Between the hours of 12:00 am and 7:00 a.m. of any day, no person shall park a vehicle unattended on any highway (citywide), which includes surface parking lots. The ban is in effect whether there is snow or not. This is to facilitate the effective work of snow removal and/or street sweeping.
In previous years, the City has attempted to contact vehicle owners before towing. This slowed down snow plowing and snow removal operations. In the interest of increasing speed and efficiency, and improving winter/spring street quality, there will no longer be any attempts made to contact the registered owner of the vehicle before towing.
Residents are being encouraged to find alternate off-street locations to park their vehicles, so City crews can work quickly and efficiently if the weather changes. The City of Fredericton thanks residents for their cooperation in this matter. For more information, consult our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)document under the Related Content Tab.
