Transit Fare Assistance Program

In order to assist residents for whom transit costs make mobility a challenge, Fredericton operates a Transit Fare Assistance Program (TFAP).

Under the program, registered non-profit community groups and agencies can apply to receive Transit and ParaTransit tickets to distribute to their clients. This allows people who need the assistance to get to medical appointments, access education and training, seek employment and/or visit service providers. This program recognizes the significant contribution that community groups make to the quality of life of Frederictonians, and the city is pleased to help them fulfill their mandates.

Registered non-profit organizations can apply for support under the program at the start of each calendar year. Participating groups also must demonstrate sound management and accountability for all tickets they receive by submitting ticket usage record sheets to the city each month and returning any unused tickets at the end of each year.

To apply, please fill out the Application Form and submit it via email or in person to the city's Rec Division at 371 Queen Street, Suite 101 (entrance from Campbell Street) before 8 am on Friday, 15 January 2021.
