Transit Fare Assistance Program

In order to assist residents for whom transit costs make mobility a challenge, Fredericton operates a Transit Fare Assistance Program (TFAP).

Under the program, registered non-profit organizations and agencies can apply to receive Transit and ParaTransit individual tickets (not monthly bus passes) to distribute to their clients. This allows people who need the assistance to get to medical appointments, access education and training, seek employment and/or visit service providers.

This program recognizes the significant contribution that community groups make to the quality of life of Frederictonians, and the City is pleased to help them fulfill their mandates. Please review the Eligibility Criteria.

Registered non-profit organizations can apply for support under the program at the start of each calendar year. The deadline to submit applications was 8:00 am on Thursday, January 19, 2023. 

Participating groups also must demonstrate sound management and accountability for all tickets they receive by submitting records of their ticket usage to the city through an online TICKET USAGE FORM.
