Anti-Racism Task Force

Fredericton City Council created the Anti-Racism Task Force for Fredericton in 2021. The selection of the Task Force members followed an extensive public consultation process. The Task Force included various members representing their respective communities, as well as a Council liaison and a City staff liaison.

Recommendations

In November 2023, the Task Force provided 14 recommendations to City Council about ways to combat systematic racism and racial discrimination in our community, with the goal of achieving a fully diverse, inclusive, and equitable society.

In July 2024, City Council approved an Action Plan for the 14 Recommendations.
