Bruce Grandy is a lifelong resident of Fredericton who is committed to elevating the quality of life of those living in the city. He believes that giving back to one’s community through service, involvement or volunteer work is something we should all strive to do. He demonstrates that commitment to give back through his work on City Council.
Coun. Grandy was first elected to Fredericton City Council in May 2004 and is currently serving his fifth term as Council representative of Ward 3 having been re-elected in May 2021. Coun. Grandy served a one-year term as Deputy Mayor that ended in May 2010.
During his past term in office, Grandy served as Chair of the Economic Vitality Committee, Vice Chair of the Governance & Civic Engagement Committee, and served as a member of the Environmental Stewardship Committee, Livable Community Committee, Municipal Finance & Corporate Administration Committee, Public Safety Committee, and Mobility Committee.
He was also a board member for Business Fredericton North, an alternate to the Downtown Fredericton Inc. Board of Directors, and past Secretary / Treasurer on the Board of Ignite Fredericton. Coun. Grandy was also a member of Killarney Lake Master Plan Advisory Committee.
Coun. Grandy works full time for the Province of New Brunswick in the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure. He and his wife, Rosemary, are the proud parents of two grown children and four young grandchildren.
