Body of man discovered near Princess Margaret Bridge

The Fredericton Police Force is investigating after the body of a man was discovered yesterday in the Saint John River, near the Princess Margaret Bridge.

Just before 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2022, police received a call from a member of the public who believed there to be a body floating in the Saint John River off the Lincoln Road.

The body has been positively identified as a 56-year old man from Fredericton, N.B. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death, however, at this time, police do not believe criminality to be a factor.

Next of kin has been notified.
