Charges laid after man arrested in stolen vehicle

On March 23, 2022, the Fredericton Police Force Street Crime Unit was conducting patrols in Fredericton’s uptown. Shortly before 5:00 p.m., officers intercepted a stolen vehicle on Prospect Street, and took an adult male into custody.

A firearm, stolen property, and a quantity of drugs presumed to be methamphetamine (crystal meth) was seized.

34-year-old Shane Gerald Morehouse from Fredericton, N.B. appeared before a Provincial Court Judge via telephone remand on March 24, 2022, and faces the following charges:

  • possession of stolen property over $5000
  • possession of identity documents
  • possession of a firearm while prohibited
  • operating a motor vehicle knowing there was a non-restricted firearm inside
  • breach of probation
  • CDSA – possession of CDSA (schedule 1) – methamphetamine

Mr. Morehouse remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on March 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
