Drug warrant leads to charges

On February 16, 2022, the Fredericton Police Drugs and Organized Crime Unit executed two CDSA warrants on a vehicle, and at a single unit in a hotel on Prospect Street.

A restricted firearm and a variety of suspected drugs were seized, including fentanyl, cocaine and hydromorphone. The approximate street value of the drugs is $13,597.00.

The Fredericton Police Emergency Response Team, Street Crimes, and Patrol officers assisted with the investigation.

40-year-old Dylan Allison Taylor, of Fredericton, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • possession of a weapon obtained by commission of offense (stolen firearm)
  • CDSA - possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • CDSA - possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • CDSA - possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – hydromorphone

Mr. Taylor was released on a Judge’s Undertaking with various conditions, and will return to court on March 10, 2022.
