Application deadline extended until Jan. 26, 2024!

The Fredericton Police Force is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Victim Witness program and is seeking volunteers to join us in 2024!

Fredericton Police Force Victim Witness Services is a police-based assistance program, established in 1983, designed to support individuals navigating the justice system or who have been impacted by crimes or calls where police have attended.

The program is facilitated by two professional counsellors who provide direct support to those needing our services, as well as to our team of volunteers.  Support services are available 24/7, all year round to those in need due to the generosity and caring nature of our amazing volunteers.

We are looking to increase our volunteer complement to provide the following services:

  • Provide emotional support and information to individuals:

o    On-scene support to individuals impacted by crime or stressful events.
o    Attend court with victims and witnesses.
o    Connect with community resources applicable to client needs.

  • Record management of support and services provided.
  • Attend community events representing the FPF Victim Witness program.
  • Other tasks, as required.

Volunteers must pass a background check, attend mandatory volunteer training, and attend monthly meetings.  Weekend availability is required.

Those interested are invited to contact Shelley Gregan, Integrated Community Services Civilian Supervisor, by email at shelley.gregan@fredericton.ca or by calling 506-460-2300.

Application deadline is January 5, 2024.
