Individual arrested and in custody. Shelter in place lifted as police operation concludes.

The operation in the Maple Street area has concluded. Police remain on scene as the investigation continues. We would like to thank the public for their cooperation.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on July 4, 2024, Fredericton Police Force became aware that a male known to be armed and dangerous, wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and unlawfully at large, was in our jurisdiction.  Police responded to a residence where he was believed to be located and secured the area. The individual has been successfully arrested and taken into custody.

Residents may return to normal activities.
