On September 17, 2023, at approximately 9:25pm, a patrol member identified a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Fredericton’s southside; the vehicle was noted travelling 165 Km/hr in a posted 110 Km/hr speed zone. While performing the traffic stop for high speed, the officer noted signs of impairment and administered roadside screening with a failed result.
The driver was arrested and charged with the following:
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance
- Driving with a blood alcohol level above 80mg%
- Speeding by over 50 Km/hr but under 80 Km/hr
This individual was fined $604.50, had their vehicle impounded and driving privileges suspended. They will appear in court at a later date.
