Police arrest individual on offensive weapons charges

Fredericton (N.B.) – In the early evening hours of Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, Fredericton Police Force (FPF) patrol members responded to a weapons complaint in Fredericton’s uptown area.  Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and quickly apprehended a 33-year-old male.  An initial search of the location resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun.  The individual was taken into custody without incident.

Michael Donelle, of Fredericton, has been charged with the following offenses:

  • s.85(1)(a) CC Use of Firearm in Commission of an Indictable Offence
  • s.86(1) CC Careless Use of Firearm
  • s.88(1) CC Possession of Weapon
  • s.90(1) CC Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • s.91(1) CC Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • s.94(1) CC Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • s.95(1) CC Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
  • s.264.1(1)(a) CC Uttering Threats

Donelle was held in custody and will appear in court for a bail hearing December 12, 2024.
