The Fredericton Police Force is disheartened to have learned that the Forest Hills Cemetery was the victim of vandalism, and that the headstones of veterans were defaced. This truly shameful act dishonours all who fought for the freedom that we thoroughly enjoy today.
Police are investigating and are requesting the public’s assistance with information regarding the vandals who targeted the cemetery’s Royal Canadian Legion field of honour, located on Forest Hill Road in Fredericton.
Our reports indicate that the incidents occurred over past two weekends, Sept. 22-24 & Sept. 29 - Oct. 1, 2023.
We implore those responsible to come forward to police.
