The Main Street Built Form Design Guidelines have been presented to members of the City’s Development Committee, for review and consideration, with the recommendation they be forwarded to City Council for adoption. The Guidelines include policies related to scale, character and design of both public and private building developments.
Both the Main Street Built Form Design Guidelines and Street Design Manual are based on the recommendations of the Main Street Urban Design Plan.
A more vibrant Main Street is a neighbourhood where people live, walk to work, visit local businesses and invest. The Main Street Urban Design Plan establishes a series of big moves that will frame a bold new vision for Main Street and the surrounding area over the next decade. Fredericton's Main Street Urban Design Plan was approved by City Council in 2016.
