Located in the historic Garrison district, the Garrison Skate Park design and build was a collaboration of the community users, City of Fredericton, and New Line Skate Parks, a company specializing in the development of integrated concrete skate parks.

The Garrison Skate Park is a 15,300 square foot destination level park with world class plaza terrain, a large enclosed bowl complex, and a one-of-a-kind ‘organic flow zone’. Along with a compelling hardscape configuration carefully detailed with the textures and colours of the surrounding urban context, the park offers dedicated viewing areas and strong linkages to nearby public transit and pathways. The quality of the design and the craftsmanship of the construction is industry leading. The park is one of the region’s largest and most progressive youth facilities. The Garrison Skate Park sets a new benchmark for similar facilities in Atlantic Canada and provides Fredericton residents and visitors a vibrant community space to gather and connect for many years to come.

The use of this facility is free for all, and all ages and abilities are welcome.

Here are a few skate park etiquette tips to keep the experience pleasant for everyone:

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Don’t stand in the park. Observers and parents should be on the sides outside of the skateable area.
  • Don’t sit on skate features. Benches will be installed this summer.
  • Make room for others and watch how others use the park. Take turns.
  • Go with the flow. Don’t skate against the stream.
  • Please pick up all your garbage and throw it in a can.
  • One person in the bowl at a time.
  • If you can’t get out of the bowl on your own, please don’t go in it.
