The River Lover

For those of us who want stunning views (let’s be real, that’s how you get the best pics). Here’s a trail bucket list for you!

Nashwaak Trail

Fall foliage AND breath-taking river views? Sign us up! Start your journey at the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge andfollow the signs for the Nashwaak Trail. From here you will continue the almost 8-kilometre-long trail and experience endless photo opportunities! 

Instagram moment: While walking along the bridge, located almost in the middle, facing the downtown riverscape side, a piece of metal is cut to perfectly frame the Cathedral! 

South Riverfront 

Escape the hustle and bustle of downtown sidewalks, while remaining close to all your favourite shops, restaurants and cafes! The South Riverfront Trail spans 3.6 km along the beautiful Wolastoq (Saint John River) and features incredible public art, access to the downtown core, local attractions and more!  

Instagram moment: Capture the beauty of several public art pieces including the Robbie Burns statue, Watermark, Arriving Home in the Beaverbrook Art Gallery sculpture garden, and more!

Northside Riverfront Trail

Name a better time of day at Carleton Park than sunset on the Northside Riverfront Trail. Enjoy golden views of the Fredericton skyline and the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge as you walk along the picturesque Wolastoq (Saint John River). This is the perfect place for a picnic, recreational games with friends, or creating your next art piece.

The Forest Lover

For those looking to connect with nature, without having to go too far. Here’s the trail bucket list for you!

Killarney Lake

Immerse yourself in fall’s beauty at Killarney Lake Park, a 1,200-acre park featuring a freshwater lake. Enjoy the colourful reflections in the lake as you walk the Killarney Lake Loop trail, bring your leashed furry friend to sniff around the trails or explore the 20 kms of footpaths in the surrounding wooded areas.

Fredericton Botanic Gardens

For a short and sweet hike head to the Fredericton Botanic GardensAlong the 2 kms of walking trails explore the Literary Garden featuring plants in books written by local authors, get inspired by the public art displays, and indulge in poetry at the Little Free Poetry Library.

Odell Park

Step back in time at Odell Park, one of Canada’s best old growth forests. Wonder the 16 kms of trails that lead to the arboretum where the trees have stood for over 400 years! Odell Park in the fall takes forest bathing to a whole new level.

The Loop Lover

For those who meet their activity goals every week. Here’s a trail bucket list for you!

Gibson-Nashwaak Loop

Achieve your step goal this fall on the breath-taking 10 km (unofficial) Gibson-Nashwaak Loop; a local favourite. Start on the Gibson Trail and walk towards Marysville, at Bridge Street cross the river to the Nashwaak Trail and walk back towards Fredericton. With charming river views, stunning fall foliage and local hot spots, this loop is a must! 

The Bridge Loop

Driving across the bridge can be stressful BUT walking across the bridge is unbelievably blissful. With every step, soak in the beauty of the Wolastoq (Saint John River) on the North and Southside RIverfront Trails. You will be met with gorgeous city views, vibrant fall foliage, incredible parks and the Historic Garrison District. This loop has excitement for the whole family!
