Sustainable Homes and Buildings

Homes and buildings are responsible for 56% of greenhouse gas emissions in our community. The City of Fredericton has an important role in reducing that percentage by shaping future development projects and planning neighbourhoods that are accessible, sustainable, use no/low carbon fuels, and reduce energy use through design.

Solar Energy

With 294 days of sunshine per year, Fredericton has a higher solar energy potential than Moncton, Saint John, and Halifax. With provincial incentives and rapidly falling prices, there’s never been a better time to invest in solar panels for your home.
