Criminal Record Checks

Fredericton Police Force uses an online process for persons requesting a police record check. This process allows you to apply for a check 24 hours a day without needing to attend our facility. All aspects of the process, including verification of your identification and payment of the fee, are handled electronically. If there are no concerns or follow-up required, your police screening documents will be emailed to you within 15 business days.

You cannot apply on behalf of another person. Authentication questions will be based on the applicant’s personal credit file, and they are timed to ensure a prompt response and further enhance security and privacy.

Police Record Checks are STRICTLY for applicants residing in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

This process is intended for persons living and working in Canada. If you are living/working outside Canada, you are required to obtain a police check from the RCMP through the submission of fingerprints.

There is a $30.00 fee plus applicable taxes for non-volunteer applications and a $15.00 fee plus applicable taxes for volunteer applications.

If you submit your payment and application online but fail to authenticate, we will email you instructions to complete the process.

If fingerprints are required for a Police Record Check, you will receive an email with instructions. An additional $25.00 must be paid at the time of fingerprinting for a non-volunteer.

Fingerprints for employment, pardon, immigration, adoption, foster parents, etc., are conducted on Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm The cost is $40.00 plus tax, with an additional $25.00 for all except immigration.
