Zig Zag Playground Program
Zig Zag is a supervised playground program, visiting Fredericton’s neighborhoods from June to August. From making neighborhood friends and playing at the local park, to learning new arts & crafts while being outside, Zig Zag’s activities are based on the interests of its participants.
FREE for ages 6-12 from 8:30 - noon Mondays through Fridays, with the exception of statutory holidays. The children who attend are free to come and go as they wish.
Please note that due to increased heat advisories, the Zig Zag program will be a morning only program to ensure the safety of all participants.
Afternoon Adventure Crew
The Afternoon Adventure Crew is the perfect way for kids to spend their summer afternoons, from June to August, making new friends! Enjoy outside games to keep active, water fun to stay cool, and crafts to spark creativity.
FREE for ages 6-12 from 1-4:30 pm Mondays through Fridays, with the exception of statutory holidays. Waterplay is optional. The children who attend are free to come and go as they wish.
Our staff are not responsible for teaching participants how to swim or for monitoring them while they participate in aquatic activities. There will be lifeguards on duty supervising the outdoor pools and Killarney Lake. All swimmers under the age of 7 or non-confident swimmers must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or using a flotation device.
Northside Youth Centre Daycamps
A perfect introduction to the joy of skateboarding or an opportunity for more experienced campers to hone their skills, NYC Day Camps are guided by skilled instructors and provide an inclusive learning environment. Challenge yourself on flat ground, street, and mini ramps and take part in a host of other activities every day from June to August.
Girls Only Learn to Skateboard Lesson
Whether you are a total beginner or if you already know a few basic tricks; our instructors can help you level up your skateboarding skills. Lessons take place on Mondays or Sundays in May and June.
Youth Pickleball Camp
Young athletes will spend time on the courts learning essential pickleball skills, techniques and much more! We have paddles that campers are welcome to use or they can bring their own.
Our camp is designed to introduce middle school to high school aged youth to the FUNdamentals in an encouraging camp environment. No experience is required. Camp takes place the last week of June.
Wednesday Walkers
A FREE walking club for all interested adults. This group meets every Wednesday from May through to October, for a one-hour long walk. Due to the increasing heat of our summers the walks will be held earlier from mid-June to the end of August.
Skate Rentals at Officers' Square
Anyone can enjoy skating at Officers' Square with FREE skate rentals. Skating aids are available to help you glide with confidence. Rentals are weather dependent, usually available from December to March.
