Every July and August, artists in the Summer Artist in Residence Program spend two weeks ‘in residence’ at either Killarney Lake Park or the Fredericton Botanic Garden, creating special projects and art pieces inspired by their surroundings.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the parks and talk with the artists to learn more about their work and creative process. Be sure to follow the artists’ social media to watch their creations evolve and for updates on upcoming events, including artist talks, demos, workshops, and Q&As.

Killarney Lake Park
Killarney Lake Park features a freshwater lake encircled by a walking path that connects to many tree-covered trails. Nestled within a lush forest, the park's sandy beach, natural scenery, and striking hemlock ridge in the northeast section are sure to inspire creative expression.
The Fredericton Botanic Garden
Situated at the western end of Odell Park, the Fredericton Botanic Garden is home to several perennial beds, a collection of rhododendrons and azaleas, woodland trails, a rose garden, and much more. Bursting with life and colour, the streams, springs, and flourishing habitats are sure to spark our artists’ creativity.
