First, let’s take a look…we invite you to watch this short VIDEO to see what awaits you in the Capital Region.

Your Community

Fredericton, New Brunswick’s Capital City, celebrated its 175+ anniversary in 2023!  The region has rich history and culture rooted in its first settlers – the Loyalists and Acadians - to present day with newcomers settling from around the world including 19 local ethno-cultural associations.

The City of Fredericton is one of only a few urban cities in Canada to have a First Nations community within its boundaries.  Saint Mary’s First Nation is one of six Wolastoqewiyik communities existing on the planet and solely unique to New Brunswick. Both are nestled in the heart of the Wolastoqewiyik traditional ancestral territory – divided only by the Saint John River known to the Wolastoqewiyik as the Wolastoq.

The Fredericton Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) has a young population of 108,610 and the Capital Region has 133,125 people living within its boundaries including Oromocto -- home to CFB Gagetown, one of the largest military training centres in the Commonwealth.

The Capital Region will afford you and your family a balanced lifestyle with abundant recreation and cultural amenities where you can build your medical career and practice across clinical environments.

The best part- affordable, safe living and traffic jams are non-existent compared to large cities!  Your average commute is 13 minutes so you can be within your office, the hospital and world-class nature in minutes!  Don’t just take our word for it – both Moneysense and MacLeans have rated us as:

“One of Canada’s Best Places to Live”.
