There is NOTHING like summer in Fredericton. From the young to the young at heart, FredRec has an activity for all! Cool off, learn new skills, and make friends all summer long.
Youth are invited to come play with FredRec at Zig Zag. Stationed at 3 new parks each week, Zig Zag has games, arts and crafts, laughs and friendships. The activities enjoyed are based on the interest of the participants; various balls, rackets and lawn games are provided for maximum FUN.
Youth who attend are free to come and go as they wish.
Cool off with FredRec and the Afternoon Adventure Crew. The crew rotates between the outdoor pools and Killarney Lake to set up various water games, a shade structure, and optional swimming for participants.
Our staff are not responsible for monitoring aquatic activity. Lifeguards are on duty at the outdoor pools and Killarney Lake. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Each summer FredRec offers skateboarding and scootering day camps at the Northside Youth Centre in the Willie O’Ree Place. Campers receive hands-on instruction from skilled camp leaders. Skills are practiced on flat ground and mini ramps. These camps are about more than practicing sweet new tricks. There are games, table tennis, pool tables, and SO MUCH MORE!
No experience is required to participate, and scooters are allowed to attend as well!
Girls! Dust off your skateboards, it’s time to hit the ramps! Whether you’re new to skateboarding or looking to try a new skill, these lessons are the place for you. The instructors at the Northside Youth Centre will have you half pipe ready in no time!
Are you ready to be the Pickleball court champion this summer? Middle and High School aged youth are invited to learn the FUNdamentals of Pickleball while also enjoying other activities such as ping pong, badminton, games, swimming and team building.
Fredericton's most popular walking group of the year welcomes adults Wednesday mornings for an hour-long social walk. Explore a new trail each week, get your steps in, breathe the fresh air, and make new friends! To join this incredible group simply show up to the location of the week with your walking shoes on.
