The Fredericton Police Force conducted a targeted drug enforcement operation in the 200 block of Maliseet Drive early this morning as part of an ongoing Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) investigation.
The operation was coordinated with the New Brunswick RCMP, which carried out related enforcement activities at two other locations in the region as part of the broader investigation.
Members of the Fredericton Police Force Emergency Response Team (ERT), Patrol Division, Police Dog Services (K9) and NB RCMP ERT executed the operation between approximately 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. There was no risk to public safety at any time.
No arrests were made during the Fredericton operation; however, the investigation is ongoing as part of a coordinated enforcement investigation with NB RCMP’s Provincial Crime Reduction Unit.
Fredericton’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) is composed of Fredericton Police Force officers, members of the New Brunswick RCMP, and Justice and Public Safety officers. The NBIEU units operate within nine municipal police forces across the province, strengthening the coordinated response to rising concerns about drugs, firearms, and organized crime in New Brunswick.
