On September 1, 2026, the Fredericton Police Force’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) conducted targeted enforcement activities as part of ongoing efforts to address public-safety concerns and criminal activity in the community.
The operation resulted in:
✅ 12 arrests (including charges related to trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, driving while prohibited, outstanding warrants and drug-related offences)
✅ 3 outstanding warrants executed
✅ Large hunting knife and conducted energy weapon seized
✅ Suspected cocaine and cash seized
The Fredericton Police Force’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) supports community safety through proactive, intelligence-led policing focused on repeat offenders, drug trafficking and open-air drug activity, wanted persons, weapons offences and other public-safety concerns.
DART's success is supported by specialized units and partner agencies, including the RPAS (drone) team, Community Safety Services Unit (CSSU) and Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), whose intelligence, surveillance and operational support enhance enforcement efforts while providing valuable experience for junior members.
Since May 2025, DART has carried out 49 operations, resulting in 157 arrests, the execution of 69 warrants, the seizure of five firearms, and approximately 500 grams of suspected controlled substances.
