City Hours of Operation for New Brunswick Day 2023

The City of Fredericton reminds the public of the following hours of operation for New Brunswick Day, Monday, August 7, 2023.

  • City Hall and administrative offices are closed.
  • There will be no transit service.
  • Regular garbage and recycling collection will occur. Routine schedules may not occur, so please set out containers by 7 am.
  • Fredericton’s indoor and outdoor pools, as well as Killarney Lake beach and Wilmot splash pad will remain open. For hours of operation and more information visit www.fredericton.ca/recreation or follow Fredericton Recreation’s social media channels.
  • All Rinks and Aquatic facilities will remain open following their usual operating hours.
  • The Visitor Information Centre at City Hall will be open from 10am-8pm on New Brunswick Day. To find out about activities going on in Fredericton, visit www.TourismFredericton.ca

Boating access to the Saint John River on August 7th will be restricted to below the Carleton Street piers or past the Small Craft Aquatic Center from 8:00pm - 12:00am.

The official New Brunswick Day celebrations will be held in Fredericton at the Provincial Legislature on Monday, August 7th. Celebrations will begin at noon, concluding with fireworks around 9:45 pm from the Westmorland Street Bridge. (The bridge will be closed from 7pm to midnight).
