Guardian Memorial River Lighting Project is a tribute to police officers and first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This installation will illuminate the third pier on the North side of the old Carleton Street Bridge with blue light at night, serving as a public memorial and art installation.
What is Being Accomplished?
Memorial & Public Art Installation:
- Blue lighting will illuminate the stonework of the third pier, creating a visible and lasting tribute to fallen officers.
- Electrical cables will be directionally drilled under the river to power the installation.
- A weathering steel mounting structure will be installed on top of the pier for lighting equipment.
The Benefits:
- This permanent lighting installation will offer a dedicated space for community reflection, in recognition of those who have made a sacrifice.
- The blue lighting will add a beautiful and meaningful element to the river at night.
