Fredericton Police Execute Targeted Operation, Seize Drugs and Firearms

The Fredericton Police Force’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) seized significant amounts of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and weapons from a north-side residence as part of a targeted enforcement operation on August 21, 2025. A 54-year-old-man is now facing multiple drug and weapons charges. 

Officers executed search warrants at a residence on Pine Street and a motor vehicle (RV) at another location as part of the targeted enforcement operation. 

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and firearm-related offences. Police confirmed there was no risk to public safety, emphasizing that the action was targeted. 

“This investigation is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the Fredericton Police Force and our Integrated Enforcement Unit, said Insp. David Cooper of the Fredericton Police Force.” “By targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking and firearm offences, we are not only removing dangerous substances and weapons from our streets but also reinforcing our commitment to community safety. These results would not be possible without the ongoing collaboration of our officers, partners, and the support of the public." 

The operation resulted in six individuals being taken into custody without incident: three males, ages 54, 36, and 24, and three females, ages 32, 48, and 23. Police charged the 54 year old male from Fredericton, while the others were released. 

During the searches, police seized: 
•    20.07 grams of fentanyl 
•    15.73 grams of cocaine 
•    2.31 grams of methamphetamine 
•    Scales and packaging materials 
•    A small amount of Canadian currency 
•    A rifle 
•    A replica firearm 

The 54-year-old male faces the following charges: 
•    CDSA – s.5(2): Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl 
•    CDSA – s.5(2): Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine 
•    CC – s.86(1): Careless Storage of a Firearm 
•    CC – s.88(2): Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 
•    CC – s.117.01(1): Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order 

The accused was released on an undertaking to attend court at a later date. 

So far in 2025, Fredericton Police have seized more than 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, over 300 grams of fentanyl, and nearly 400 grams of cocaine, along with various other illicit drugs such as pills, MDMA, LSD blotters, psilocybin, and crack cocaine, representing an approximate street value of $176,500. Officers also seized over $26,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds of crime. These seizures represent a significant step in keeping dangerous substances—particularly fentanyl and meth—off Fredericton’s streets.
