The City of Fredericton advises residents of the following schedule changes to its programs and services during the holiday season.
City Hall and Municipal Office Hours
Holiday hours at City Hall and municipal offices at 335 Queen Street, Phoenix Square, and the York Street Fire Station will be:

December 24 – 8:15 am to 3 pm
- December 25-26 – Closed
- December 29 & 30 – 8:15 am to 4:30 pm
- December 31 – 8:15 am to 3 pm
- January 1 – Closed
Residents are reminded that they can always access the City’s online Service Center 24/7 by visiting www.fredericton.ca/resident-services. You will find payment information, as well as answers to general inquiries.
Police Force
The Police Station at 311 Queen Street is always open to the public, and an officer is available 24 hours a day / seven days a week using the intercom at the side door of the Station. Non-emergency calls should be directed to 506-460-2300. In an emergency, ALWAYS dial 9-1-1.

Free Parking on December 24
On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, the City of Fredericton offers free parking to downtown shoppers at all on-street parking meters, the York Street Carpark, and both the Frederick Square and East End Parking Garages.
Garbage and Recycling Collection

Scheduled waste and recycling collection on Thursday, December 25, will be collected on Saturday, December 27.

Scheduled waste and recycling collection on Thursday, January 1, will be collected on Saturday, January 3.

Normal scheduling will return on Monday, January 5.
Don’t let your recycling go to waste this time of year. While some items, like wrapping paper cannot be recycled, other materials like cardboard and boxboard are welcome. When in doubt, look for the recycling symbol or check out the complete list of materials at www.circularmaterials.ca/resident-communities/fredericton/.

Christmas Tree Drop-off Locations
The annual Christmas Tree recycling program runs from December 26 to January 20. Christmas Trees are collected at the following designated drop off locations, and then chipped and recycled for compost at the City of Fredericton municipal composting facility:

Royal Road Park – Parking lot adjacent to the outdoor pool.

Fulton Heights – School parking lot off Fulton Avenue entrance to Nashwaaksis Middle School.

Malloy Baseball Field Parking Lot off McEvoy.

Marysville Heritage Centre Facility – Parking lot off McGloin Street.

Kimble Drive – Vacant lot opposite the Fredericton Community Garden at 150 Kimble.

Odell Park – Park parking lot in the corner of the lot off Waggoners Lane.

Queens Square Park –adjacent to pool building off Aberdeen.

Angelview Park – Park parking lot off Woodstock Road.
For staff and equipment safety, please DO NOT leave wreaths, artificial trees or any other materials that are not natural Christmas Trees. This includes the removal of all stands, tinsel, ornaments, screws, plastic, strings, nails and wires, as these objects are not recyclable. In addition, residents are reminded NOT to leave household garbage or recyclable materials at these locations. Please dispose of the item properly.
